Countries vs. Nationalities: Know the Difference
Sometimes you might be able to remember a county's name, but remembering the nationality might be a little more difficult. I have a little trick that might help you if you sometimes have that problem. Usually (but not always) the nationality, language, and cuisine (food) has the same name. For example:
Japan (country), Japanese (language), Japanese (cuisine), Japanese (NATIONALITY).
This works most of the time. Spain (country), Spanish (language), Spanish (cuisine), Spanish (nationality) / Germany, German, German, German / Italy, Italian, Italian, Italian / France, French, French, French.
However this is not a perfect system. There are exceptions...
China (country), Mandarin, Cantonese, etc. (language), Chinese (cuisine), Chinese (nationality) / Mexico, Spanish, Mexican, Mexican / Brazil, Portuguese, Brazilian, Brazilian.
I hope this trick works. It does for me most of the time. Name That Nationality #27
