Eat Like a Pig

Sometimes Japanese expressions and English expressions are completely different. In Japanese we might say 豚のように食べる which translates to "eat like a pig". This Japanese expression is used for someone who is a messy eater. We also have the expression "eat like a pig" in English, but it means something different. It means to overeat or "pig-out".

I usually eat like a bird (eat only a little) at dinner unless it's pizza. I absolutely love pizza! So I always eat like a pig when we have pizza. How embarrassing.
